Housebreaking a new puppy

Housebreaking your puppy is not difficult, it just takes consistency and patience.

Some main points about housebreaking a new puppy:

  • Put your puppy on a schedule for eating and drinking.
  • After the puppy eats, drinks, has play time or a nap, take the puppy outside to the same place to relieve itself.
  • Say something like "go pee" or "go potty" and give lots of praise when they do their business.
  • The puppy should not be allowed to roam the inside unsupervised.
  • Do not train the puppy to relieve itself indoors on newspapers, "puppy pads", etc. ¬†This just makes it more difficult for you later.
  • Remember! ¬†Consistency and patience are key.
